In the series of paintings “Over the contemporary” recurs what I like defining the “nucleus theory” according to soft shells, rocky tortoises, but also perforated and sharpened sheets, are the result of the sense of protection, strength and vitality which behind our alter ego finds life’s blood from a world that tries to get us away from it.

Have you ever asked what’s behind contemporary art? Beyond its conceptualism, abstract shapes, unusual materials or virtual colors and not from nature anymore: here there are its origins. The paint serie “Melting pot” has the goal to create new patterns of dimensional and stylistic vision, trying to preserve the artwork from the passing time and its cataloguing. The expression Melting Pot is used to indicate the combination of different elements, in fact the power of these realizations, that unifies the new to the old, the figurative to the conceptual, the poor art to the contemporary one, is located in the capacity to provoke simultaneously conflicting feelings of appreciation, disgusting and provocation. The reality is that before the observer there is a very simple and anonymous paint of poor art with a typical figurative topic which brings out all the time signs, sometimes bond to a broken canvas or the color’s deterioration or a wet canvas. Everything is left as they are, no one paint has received the abuses of their troubled past. The problem is that a contemporary annex has succeeded to the paint that revolutionize completely the message, a trickery that could make confusion because creates distress with the works’ sensation, stability and integrity causing a double movement both temporary and carnal that if on one hand lays the foundations of a dynamical dialogue with the past, on the other establishes the new physical logics.
